What is ATX?
ATX- Student Weekend is a D-NOW style weekend where students stay in host homes and gather together for worship, biblical teaching, crazy amounts of fun, and more. Our desire is that students would encounter Jesus in a whole new way and begin living on mission in their schools, on their sports team and in the city of Austin. We have collaborated with several churches and combined all our resources to pull off an EPIC weekend that your student won't want to miss.
Where is it at?
The main sessions will be held at Riverbend Church.... simply because their venue is amazing. Everything else will be done in and around the Austin area. Hopefully that makes sense.
Who can participate?
Any student in middle school or high school.
Where will my student be staying?
Students will register through their church as they would any other retreat or camp. Each church is then responsible for handling their own registration, host homes, small group leaders, transportation, etc. So in other words... "NO your student won't be staying in a strangers house with a bunch of people they don't know."
Can my student attend without a youth group?
Unfortunately the answer is no. We structure the weekend so that your student can have fun & build community with others.
Why is the cost different for each church?
The base cost of the weekend is $60 which covers the main sessions, worship, speaker, t-shirt and two meals. Each church is then responsible for their own transportation, extra meals, service projects and any other activities they have planned. So the cost of the weekend might vary from church to church. If you have questions regarding cost or need financial assistance please talk with the student pastor at your church.
Can my student bring a cell phone?
This is completely up to the leadership at your church. We don't mind phones. In fact we typically will use it to engage with students over the weekend via social media, competitions, etc. So either way is fine with us.
